History

Johnson-Romito Funeral Home is highly respected in each of the communities it serves. A dedication to serving families in a warm, caring environment that is both professional and respectful makes Johnson-Romito Funeral Home the preferred choice for families in need of their services.

Over 100 years ago, the funeral homes were started by Donald B. Johnson. The business was built on a belief that every family served deserved to be treated with compassion, respect and professionalism. This belief carries forward today. Ed Romito joined the funeral home 50 years ago and continues to be integral in its growth and service to the community. By the late 1960’s the funeral home grew to four locations in Bedford, Hudson, Northfield and Twinsburg and was known for its professionalism and caring service to each family in need. Ed Romito assumed ownership of the funeral homes in the 1970’s creating Johnson-Romito Funeral Homes. After years of experience and service to the community Ed has been able to pass his caring way on to his family and his staff. Ed's son, Mike Romito, joined the funeral homes in 1982 and became an owner in 1994. He maintains the same dedication to service, compassion and professionalism shown by his father.

Today, Johnson-Romito Funeral Homes continues to be a leader in providing dedicated service and support to the communities they serve. With the Romito family maintaining full ownership of the funeral homes, families can be assured that they are receiving the caring, compassionate service they deserve. Ed, his wife Bea, son Michael and daughter-in-law Kathy are active and integral to serving the community and families who choose Johnson-Romito Funeral Homes.
